BrokeButNotForLong, Inc.

  Employment Resources

We incorporated in 2009 as a nonprofit organization to assist individuals with disabilities, veterans, rehabilitated ex-offenders, and displaced workers find employment. We share strategies for the job hunt for those who are eager to work and have adequate skills, but aren't finding employment on commercial Internet sites. Our underlying premise is that as Americans, we are hard-working individuals, determined to get a good job, and do it well, hence our namesake, BrokeButNotForLong. We focus on social media as a career tool, since it's a powerful and inexpensive way to look for work.

Additionally, we advocate for the hiring of veterans and persons with disabilities.  If you're an employer, visit our web page that lists various tax incentives for hiring veterans and other special populations.  Moreover, we collaborate with other agencies that are veteran focused.  For example, we formed an alliance with Still Serving Veterans (SSV) to liaise vet-friendly businesses in the right direction.  SSV is a nonprofit agency that works directly with disabled veterans via case management to help them access job-related resources.

We're a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity that is registered in the states of Alabama and Florida.  If you like what you see on our site, please donate securely with PayPal.   If all our site visitors donated only $1, we could start providing outreach services to our local community on the Gulf Coast in the manner of job clubs.  The US Department of Labor encourages community and faith-based organizations to provide job clubs to impart information and offer support to the unemployed. Contact us if you'd like to host a job club in our area.
